H20 timber beams are 200 mm high with 80 mm wide flanges and weigh about 5 kg per metre. Standard lengths run from 1.80 m to 5.90 m, with 2.45, 2.90, 3.30, 3.90, 4.90 and 5.90 m the most common. ASU Trading imports H20 beams and holds stock in Sharjah; call +971 50 486 5006 for current lengths.
Standard H20 beam lengths
| Length | Approx. weight per beam | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| 1.80 m | about 9 kg | Wall and column formwork, short slab spans |
| 2.45 m | about 12 kg | Wall and column formwork, short slab spans |
| 2.65 m | about 13 kg | Wall and column formwork, short slab spans |
| 2.90 m | about 15 kg | Slab formwork secondary and primary beams |
| 3.30 m | about 17 kg | Slab formwork secondary and primary beams |
| 3.60 m | about 18 kg | Slab formwork secondary and primary beams |
| 3.90 m | about 20 kg | Slab formwork secondary and primary beams |
| 4.50 m | about 23 kg | Long primary beams, large slab bays |
| 4.90 m | about 25 kg | Long primary beams, large slab bays |
| 5.90 m | about 30 kg | Long primary beams, large slab bays |
Weights are approximate (about 5 kg/m). The exact figure depends on the manufacturer and moisture content. We confirm which lengths are in our Sharjah stock when we quote.
H20 beam cross-section

How to choose lengths
Pick lengths that match your bay sizes so beams overlap over the supports without long overhangs. Mixing two or three lengths in one order usually fits a slab layout better than one length. Send us your formwork drawing or the running metres and we suggest a mix.
